Calusa Garden Club members enjoyed the first event of a new program for members: Fun and Fellowship. Under the direction of First Vice President Monique Doyle, a member hosts a small group of members in any of a variety of settings and types: member lunch, cocktail party, beach walk, brunch, or whatever the host chooses. New members are given preference in reservations. The purpose of the events is for members to get to know each other outside of the formal structure of a meeting or workshop.
On Monday, January 23, Sara Wolf hosted sunset cocktails at Residents Beach from 4:00 to 6:30 for a group of 12 members. Members in attendance were new members Ellen Norton and Nanette Baumgardner, and joining them were host Sara Wolf, Janet Watson, Opi DeFalco, Kimberly Korb Porter, Margy Bruckman, Kathy McNabb, Nancy Adams. Sara provided an assortment of appetizers and munchies plus wine, beer, water and soft drinks. The women enjoyed the fellowship and were treated to a beautiful Marco Island sunset.
